Attendance
Good attendance is really important to us here at Scremerston First School and we recognise the value of pupil's regular attendance and punctuality. Our children's learning starts as soon as they walk through the door, whether it be TT Rockstars, Speed Sounds or Sensory Circuits to get them in the best place for learning, every minute is valuable!
Our expectations are high for attendance and we aim for 97% across the whole school for an academic year.
If any pupil has 92% attendance or less we invite parents/carers to a School Attendance Matters (SAM) meeting to find out how we can work together to improve attendance.

pupil absences
If your child is ill, please call the school on 01289 307536 before 9am to give the reason for their absence.
Any parent wishing to take a child out of school during term time must apply to the Head Teacher giving an explanation. It is at the Head Teacher's discretion whether or not the absence is authorised. but this will only be in exceptional circumstances.
